The Book With The Rose

Leafing through a book you found a rose
withered and crushed
and you could no longer remember
who hand once picked it for you

The dust on the cover say
that the years passed
until the rose fell into your hands
as a promise of a reunion
it was picked

Still before the sun set
in the evening breeze
you already knew
that it was him, who picked it for you

Das Buch mit der Rose

In einem Buche blätternd fandest du
eine Rose, welk, zerdrückt
Und du wußtest nicht mehr
wessen Hand sie einst für dich gepflückt

Der Staub auf des Buches Deckel
sagt, daß die Jahre vorgerückt
bis sie in deine Hände fiel
Als Zeichen eines Wiedersehn`s
wurde sie gepflückt

Noch bevor die Sonne sank
in den Abendhauch
da wußtest du längst
daß er es war, der sie gepflückt
